The University of Illinois Krannert Art Museum Council will host its eighteenth annual PETALS & PAINTINGS benefit April 16–18 in support of the museum's upcoming exhibitions and related educational programming.
Champaign florist Rick Orr, AIFD, is guest curator of PETALS & PAINTINGS.
The exhibition features floral arrangements created by award-winning
regional floral designers, in response to works of art selected by Orr
from the museum's permanent collection.
The exhibition will open with a gala reception at Krannert Art Museum
on Friday, April 16 from 7–9 pm. Guests will view the floral displays
as they enjoy a musical performance by the Darden Purcell Quartet,
along with cocktails and a selection of light hors d'oeuvres catered by
Michaels' Catering. An original work of art by Robert Chapman will be
awarded to the holder of the winning raffle ticket.
Tickets for the opening reception may be purchased for $75. For

The PETALS & PAINTINGS exhibition will be open to the public and
may be viewed from 9 am–5 pm on Saturday, April 17, and from 12–5 pm on
Sunday, April 18. Docent-led tours will be available on Saturday
beginning at 10 am.
