PETALS & PAINTINGS

Save the Date!

Friday, April 20, 2012   •  Opening Gala Reception

Krannert Art Museum’s spring fundraiser, Petals & Paintings is celebrating its 20th year!

For 19 years Champaign florist Rick Orr, AIFD has curated Petals & Paintings—an exhibit that features floral arrangements created by award-winning regional floral designers, in response to works of art selected by Orr from the museum’s permanent collection.

The Krannert Art Museum Council is proud to once again host this popular weekend event with the opening gala reception on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 7–9 pm. Guests will view floral displays as they enjoy art and music, as well as cocktails and a selection of light hors d’oeuvres catered by Michaels’ Catering.

Proceeds from the event support the museum’s upcoming exhibitions and educational programming. All of the museum’s exhibitions and programs are free and open to the public—due in part to this yearly event.

Tickets for the opening reception may be purchased for $75. For event information or to make reservations, please call Krannert Art Museum at 217.244.0516 or email kam@illinois.edu.

The Petals & Paintings exhibition will be open to the public and may be viewed on Saturday, April 21 from 9 am–5 pm and on Sunday, April 22 from 12–5 pm. Docent-led tours will be available on Saturday beginning at 10 am.
